Abanderadas UPR Aguadilla
¡Ay la vida universitaria, que mucho la disfruté! Lo admito, es cuando descubrí que yo era como el arroz blanco. Estaba por todos lados sin tener un “no” para nadie. No recuerdo ni como surgió la idea de ir y audicionar esa tarde, solo sé que luego de dos audiciones llego ese mensaje tan esperado diciendo: “¡Felicidades! Bienvenida al grupo de Abanderadas UPRAG”.
Me propuse hacer mi bachillerato en cuatro años, no más no menos y estar libre a mis 21 años de edad. Estudié e hice mi bachillerato en Administración de Empresas con una mayor en Marketing y una menor en Recursos Humanos en la Universidad de Puerto Rico en Aguadilla. #ProductoUPR
Dentro de mis tiempos de estudios pertenecí a dos asociaciones estudiantiles en las areas de Marketing y Contabilidad de las cuales formé parte de sus directivas. Y, aunque llegué a tener multiples trabajos dentro y fuera de la universidad, el más especial fue cuando me aprobaron ser parte del progama de estudio y trabajo y asistía como anotadora a los estudiantes con algún grado de discapacidad. Consistía en asistir a clases con ellos y hacer notas de sus asignaturas.
¿Por qué cuento todo eso? Porque más allá de mi pasión por el baile y la música y tener a mi cuidado por completo a mi abuela desde muy temprana edad, con cada cosa que me he propuesto lo he logrado e incluso llegando a formar parte de sus líderes.
Así mismo pasó y ya para el segundo año perteneciendo al equipo de las Abanderas, me eligieron como su Co-Capitana. Antes era la contable. ¿Lo dude de momento? Sí. Por mi cabeza pasaron mil cosas. Todas y cada una de las responsabilidades que ya tenía con el resto del campus. Más estábamos en tiempos de preparación para las JUSTAS LAI, no quería defraudar a nadie. ¡Pero acepté!
Solo me queda agreceder a cada una de las abanderadas del equipo por todo el apoyo y confianza.
Es como pudimos estar presente en cada actividad y marchas de la universidad. Incluso logramos realizar ventas para generar fondos para nuestros uniformes y equipo. En algún punto llegamos a ser uno de los equipos con más fondos de la universidad.
En adelante adjunto algunas de nuestras participaciones para su aprecio.
Abanderadas UPR Aguadilla “Colorguard dance team”
Oh the college life, I really enjoyed it! I admit it, that's when I discovered that I was like the white rice. I was everywhere without having a "no" for anyone. I don't even remember how the idea of going and auditioning that afternoon came about, I just know that after two auditions that long-awaited message came saying: “Congratulations! Welcome to the group of Abanderadas UPRAG”.
I decided to do my bachelor’s degree in four years, no more, no less, and be done at 21 years of age. I studied and did my bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing and a minor in Human Resources at the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla. #ProductoUPR
During my studies, I belonged to two student associations in the areas of Marketing and Accounting, of which I was part of their directives. And, although I got to have multiple jobs inside and outside the university, the most special was when I was approved to be part of the work-study program and assisted students with some degree of disability as an annotator. It consisted of attending classes with them and making notes on their subjects.
Why am I telling all this? Because beyond my passion for dance and music and having my grandmother in my complete care from an early age, with everything I have proposed to my life I have achieved it and even becoming part of its leaders.
The same thing happened and the second year belonging to the team, they chose me as their Co-Captain. Before I was the accountant. Do I doubt it for a moment? Yes. A thousand things went through my head. All responsibilities I already had with the rest of the campus. Also, we were in times of preparation for the JUST LAI, I did not want to disappoint anyone. But I accepted!
I only have to thank everyone on the team for all the support and trust.
It is how we were able to be present in every activity and march of the university. We even managed to make sales to generate funds for our uniforms and equipment. At some point we became one of the most highly funded teams in the university.
